Commercial Renewal Underwriter
Our client is an MGA that has a special program for religious institutions/churches as well as other non-profits. They have the pen for an A+ rated insurance carrier and have been extremely successful! This Underwriter is an addition to staff because of growth and the Underwriter will underwrite renewal commercial property and casualty business for risks in this space. This is a remote role with some travel to Chicago for training and important meetings. Responsibilities of this role:
- Evaluate, select, and price submissions to develop and maintain a profitable book of business
- Manage internal and external relationships that will develop into superior service
- Performing pre and post binding review of underwriting information, including loss control inspections, property information, policy applications and prior loss history
- Overseeing and maintaining policy file documentation
- Liaise with internal resources in establishing account strategy
- Communicate risk appetite and quoted propositions to brokers
- Sending declinations, non-renewals, and direct notices of cancellation, when appropriate
- Participate in underwriting projects as needed
What we are looking for:
- Bachelor's Degree
- Minimum of 3 years of experience underwriting, including general liability, property products within the church/non-profit sectors.
