JOB OVERVIEW: VEGETATION CONTROL (VC) AUDITOR The Vegetation Control (VC) Auditor is responsible for auditing, validating, and supporting vegetation control work to ensure compliance with applicable contractual, regulatory, and quality standards. This role serves as a key quality assurance function within vegetation management operations, working closely with operations and field leadership to identify deficiencies, document findings, and support corrective actions. The VC Auditor works in a field‑focused capacity with administrative responsibilities and may perform job duties from operational facilities, field locations, or other approved work settings. This position requires independence, strong judgment, and consistent, accurate reporting. The role plays a critical part in maintaining work quality, compliance, and continuous improvement across vegetation management programs. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Field Auditing & Quality Assurance:
- Conduct field audits of vegetation control and pole‑clearing work to verify adherence to contractual, regulatory, and quality standards
- Evaluate workmanship, access clearance, vegetation control effectiveness, and safety compliance
- Document audit findings accurately using company‑approved electronic systems
- Perform follow‑up audits to confirm corrective actions and compliance restoration
Operational Support & Collaboration:
- Partner with operations and field leadership to support quality and compliance goals
- Participate in scheduled operational meetings and audit reviews
- Communicate audit results, trends, and corrective recommendations clearly and professionally
- Meet with supervisors and field personnel, as needed, to review findings and expectations
Field Work & Compliance Support:
- Perform vegetation control or pole‑clearing work as needed to bring failed audits back into compliance
- Access utility rights‑of‑way, hike power lines, and navigate varied terrain safely
- Interact professionally with property owners, clients, and the public while in the field
- Use company‑provided tools and equipment to support corrective and compliance activities
Reporting & Communication:
- Submit daily and periodic audit updates to assigned operational contacts
- Maintain detailed, accurate audit documentation and records
- Track recurring quality issues and contribute to continuous improvement efforts
REQUIREMENT & QUALIFICATIONS Experience & Skills
- Prior experience in vegetation management, utility right‑of‑way work, forestry operations, inspections, auditing, or field‑based compliance roles
- Demonstrated understanding of vegetation control standards, work quality expectations, and field safety practices
- Ability to identify deficiencies, non‑conforming work, and quality gaps in field operations
Technical & Computer Skills
- Strong computer and mobile device proficiency, including the ability to use tablets, databases, audit platforms, and reporting tools
- Ability to accurately document findings, generate reports, and submit electronic communications
- Willingness and ability to learn company‑specific audit systems and tools (training provided)
Independence & Communication
- Ability to work independently while coordinating with operations and field leadership
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to clearly explain audit findings
- Ability to communicate professionally with field crews, supervisors, and operations leadership
Training & Assessments
- Successful completion of required field training alongside experienced field personnel
