Marketing Conversion Copywriter | Winter & Snow Sports

At The Action Sports Translator – a specialized localization and content agency working exclusively with outdoor and action sports brands – we're currently looking for freelance US English conversion copywriters with a passion for mountain & winter sports to support a marketing copy project for one of our leading mountain sports brand clients, kicking off immediately. You'll work alongside our copy and content team to produce high-impact marketing copy for an iconic outdoor brand – writing for products you probably already use and rely on in your own adventures. This role focuses on conversion-oriented marketing copy across seasonal campaign touchpoints: PPC, paid social, landing pages, email flows, retargeting and campaign concepts that ladder up from brand messaging to direct-response execution. Please note that this is not a general copywriting or translation role. You'll be focused on conversion-driven, campaign-based work – so a solid background in performance copy is essential. Fully remote Open to writers anywhere in the world. US English as your first language is required – this is non-negotiable for this project. Freelance, project-based collaboration This is a seasonal copywriting project kicking off immediately, with multiple batches of work expected throughout the upcoming months and potential continued collaboration across future seasons. Start date: as soon as possible First deliverables are due by early June 2026, so we're looking for writers who can start right away. Please note we run a short paid test project before kicking off full collaboration – shortlisted applicants should be ready to turn around a small assignment before the main project begins. What we are looking for

• US English speaker (as your first language)
• Proven conversion copywriting experience – PPC, paid social, landing pages, etc. Not general copywriting – this project is specifically conversion focused.
• You've written seasonal campaign copy before and understand how upstream messaging feeds into downstream conversion
• You have previous experience writing for outdoor brands
• You live and breathe ski touring, freeriding and alpinism/climbing. When you're not behind your screen, you're skinning up, scouting new lines or tying in.
• You know how to translate sports culture into copy – puns, in-jokes and references that only work if you actually live the sports and are part of the community. You have at least one friend who "knows a secret line" – or maybe you're that friend.
• Comfortable working to brief, hitting deadlines and handling multiple rounds of revision

Main responsibilities

• Writing conversion copy across PPC ads (search), paid social, landing pages, retargeting and broader campaign touchpoints
• Developing seasonal campaign concepts that ladder up from brand messaging to direct-response execution
• Writing to brief while bringing a strong POV
• Producing variants and working through structured feedback rounds
• Collaborating closely with our equally outdoor-obsessed project managers, writers and editors
