Web Developer II
About the position The Web Developer II is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality web applications. This role involves collaborating with a team of developers to deliver robust and scalable web solutions. The ideal candidate has a strong background in web development, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and deploy high-quality web applications using PHP, SQL, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and relevant web technologies
- Collaborate with designers, project managers, and other developers to create user-friendly and visually appealing web interfaces
- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code, following best practices and coding standards
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues
- Integrate third-party APIs and services into web applications
- Perform code reviews and provide constructive feedback, mentorship, and support to junior developers
- Ensure cross-browser compatibility and responsive design across all web applications
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends to improve skills and knowledge continuously
- Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to deployment and maintenance
- Assist in the development of technical documentation, including user guides and API documentation
- Contribute to the improvement of the web development process and practices within the team
- Work efficiently to ensure uptime and optimum user experience
- Understanding of common web application security concerns and their mitigation
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in web development
- Proficiency in PHP, SQL, HTML, CSS, JavaScript
- Strong understanding of version control systems, such as Git
- Experience with web performance optimization
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines
- Ability to handle challenging situations professionally
Nice-to-haves
- Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) is a plus
- Knowledge of web accessibility standards and best practices
- Ability to write optimized SQL queries
- Knowledge of Linux administration is a plus
- Experience developing RESTful APIs is helpful
