Experienced Crisis Specialist – 988 Chat/Text Crisis Support (3rd Shift) – Part-Time Opportunity

We're seeking an experienced Crisis Specialist to join our 24/7/365 mental health crisis/suicide prevention focused team, handling incoming chat/text messages through the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline (NSPL), also known as 988. As a Crisis Specialist, you'll provide brief clinical screenings, risk assessments, and appropriate service linkage for individuals experiencing emotional distress. While interactions begin online, this position may also support telephonic intervention to ensure safety.
About the Role:
This is a remote part-time position, working a 3rd shift schedule from Friday to Sunday, 6pm-2:30am CST, with Mondays to Thursdays off. We're looking for a highly skilled and compassionate individual with a strong background in crisis intervention and mental health support.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide telephonic or chat clinical screenings and risk assessments for individuals experiencing emotional distress
- Answer crisis contacts via the chat/text platform to assess for suicide, safety, and identify appropriate community resources to meet individual needs
- Conduct follow-up calls for individuals deemed moderate to high risk for suicide
- Meet the ethical and clinical standards in compliance with all accreditation
- Actively participate in ongoing supervision, training, and team meetings
- Assist in administrative tasks as needed
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
* Effectively communicate via written, verbal, in-person, and virtual methods
- Demonstrate high-level customer service skills and professional etiquette
- Knowledge and competency in providing service linkage and referrals for programs, services, and other community resources
- Knowledge of suicide assessments
- Skill in providing crisis intervention
Education and Experience:
* Bachelor's degree in behavioral science, Psychology, Social Work, or Certified Peer Recovery Specialist
- Six months to one year of related crisis experience required
