Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Sr. Data Engineer to join our team at arenaflex. As a Sr. Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining large-scale data pipelines and architectures to support business and information science needs. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including data science, engineering, and product management, to ensure that data is accurate, reliable, and easily accessible. You will also be responsible for investigating current data technology conditions, identifying areas for improvement, and recommending solutions.
Key Responsibilities
* Design and implement large-scale data pipelines and architectures to support business and information science needs
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that data is accurate, reliable, and easily accessible
- Investigate current data technology conditions to identify areas for improvement and recommend solutions
- Develop and maintain ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, data set frameworks, and tools for continuous and batch processing
- Work with data science teams to integrate data and models into automated processes
- Develop and maintain data stores and data models to support information science and other internal clients
- Ensure that data is integrated from various sources, adhering to data quality and accessibility standards
- Explore new tools and technologies to identify optimal solutions for data processing and analysis
- Collaborate with data science teams to develop and maintain data pipelines and architectures
- Develop and maintain data models and data stores to support business and information science needs
Essential Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering, with a focus on designing and implementing large-scale data pipelines and architectures
- 5+ years of experience with SQL, including experience with data modeling, data warehousing, and data governance
- 5+ years of experience with Python, including experience with data processing, data analysis, and data visualization
- Experience with cloud-based platforms, including Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Amazon Web Services (AWS), or Microsoft Azure
- Strong communication, decision-making, and critical thinking skills
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience with Hadoop, Hive, or PySpark
- Experience with data visualization tools, such as Tableau or Power BI
- Experience with data governance and data quality tools, such as Informatica or Talend
- Experience with medical health industry data, including experience with electronic health records (EHRs) and claims data
- Experience with agile development methodologies, including experience with Scrum or Kanban
Skills and Competencies
* Strong understanding of data engineering principles and practices
- Experience with data modeling, data warehousing, and data governance
- Strong understanding of cloud-based platforms, including GCP, AWS, or Azure
- Experience with data processing, data analysis, and data visualization
