Job Summary
We're seeking an experienced Medical Record/Data Entry Clerk/Project Support Associate to join our team on a full-time basis. This hybrid role offers a mix of remote and in-office work, with a 2/3 days on/off schedule. As a Project Associate, you'll play a critical role in supporting our Revenue Recovery Department, working closely with a team of experts to ensure our clients receive the reimbursement they're entitled to.
Key Responsibilities
As a Medical Record/Data Entry Clerk/Project Support Associate, your key responsibilities will include:
- Retrieving patient medical records from various hospital systems, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Generating and preparing patient itemized bills in appropriate formats for internal and external audits
- Extracting and entering necessary information from/to hospital patient accounting systems, maintaining data integrity and accuracy
- Making phone calls to post-acute healthcare facilities to obtain information needed on patients, building strong relationships and communicating effectively
- Running and creating reports to support data-driven decision-making and analysis
- Assisting with any other information gathering or data entry as needed by the recovery team, adapting to changing priorities and deadlines
- Scanning and indexing documents, maintaining a high level of organization and attention to detail
Essential Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
- 2+ years of experience in medical record/data entry, project support, or a related field
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with healthcare professionals and clients
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and experience with hospital patient accounting systems
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple projects simultaneously
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
Preferred Qualifications
While not essential, the following qualifications would be highly desirable:
- Experience working in a healthcare revenue integrity or health information management setting
- Certification in medical coding, billing, or a related field
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHRs) and practice management systems
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA regulations and compliance
- Experience with data analysis and reporting, using tools like Excel and Tableau
