Day in the Life as a Lead Pharmacy Technician

As a Lead Pharmacy Technician, you will play a critical role in supporting the front-end pharmacy technician team and assisting with data entry, customer service, and processing support tasks. Your day will be filled with a variety of responsibilities, including:

  • Collaborating with senior technicians to coordinate daily production of assigned areas, including data entry, customer service, and automation
  • Troubleshooting and assisting with front-end processes and workflow issues to identify solutions
  • Partnering with pharmacy leaders on team training plans and collaborating with field training teams as needed
  • Assisting in orientation, training, and education programs for all controlled substances in accordance with policies, procedures, state, and federal laws

Required Qualifications

To be successful as a Lead Pharmacy Technician, you will need to have:

  • Verifiable High School Diploma or GED
  • Certification/licensed/registered pharmacy technician or as required by state law
  • One (1) or more years of experience as a pharmacy technician

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, prior experience in the long-term care industry and PTCB National Certification are highly desirable.

Education

A verifiable High School Diploma or GED is required.

Expected Salary

The typical pay range for this role is: Minimum: $18.50 Maximum: $34.60 Please note that this range represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual salary offer will take into account a wide range of factors, including location.
