CAD Drafter Needed – Convert 1 Welded Door Drawing into Editable CAD (Potential Ongoing Work)
Description: We are looking for an experienced CAD drafter to convert one existing 2D drawing of a welded steel door into a shop-ready, fully editable CAD drawing. This is an initial test project for a single door, with the potential for additional drawings if the work is a good fit. Scope of Work: Convert provided 2D drawing (PDF) into CAD Create a clear, buildable drawing suitable for fabrication Show: Overall dimensions Individual components Cut lengths Weld locations Flag any unclear or missing details before finalizing Deliverables: Fully editable CAD files (native format – not PDF only) Shop-ready drawing that can be used by a welder without guesswork Files must be unlocked and usable for future edits Important Requirements: This is a work-for-hire project — all files will be owned by us upon payment Files must be fully editable and usable by our in-house welder No locked or restricted file formats Ideal Experience: Welded steel / fabrication drawings Experience creating drawings used in real shops Understanding of practical fabrication (not just theoretical CAD) Timeline: Flexible, but preference for completion within a few days to one week Compensation: Open to fixed price or hourly — please include your rate To Apply, Please Include: Brief description of relevant experience Examples of similar work (weldments or fabrication drawings preferred) Estimated cost and timeline for this single drawing CAD software you use If the initial drawing goes well, we have additional doors and assemblies to follow.
