Remote Senior Insurance Underwriter
Our client, a reputable and growing insurance provider, is seeking a highly experienced Senior Insurance Underwriter to join their fully remote team. This critical role involves assessing and managing risks associated with insurance applications, ensuring profitability and compliance with company guidelines. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of underwriting principles, risk assessment techniques, and a strong understanding of various insurance products. As a remote professional, you will work independently from your home office, requiring excellent analytical skills, decision-making capabilities, and the ability to manage a significant workload with precision and efficiency. Key Responsibilities: Evaluate and underwrite insurance applications across various lines of business, ensuring adherence to risk appetite and profitability targets. Analyze financial statements, historical loss data, and other relevant information to assess risk exposure. Determine appropriate coverage terms, conditions, pricing, and deductibles for new and renewal policies. Collaborate with brokers and agents to gather necessary information and clarify policy details. Identify potential risks and recommend mitigation strategies. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, guidelines, and company policies. Maintain accurate and comprehensive underwriting files and records. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior underwriters. Stay informed about industry trends, market changes, and emerging risks. Contribute to the development and refinement of underwriting guidelines and procedures. Participate in meetings with internal teams and external stakeholders as required. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field. Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in insurance underwriting, with a focus on complex risks. In-depth knowledge of underwriting principles, risk management, and insurance products (e.g., P&C, Life, Health). Proven ability to analyze financial data and assess risk accurately. Strong decision-making skills and sound judgment. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities. Proficiency in underwriting software and CRM systems. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines in a remote setting.
