Job Summary

As an Experienced Customer Sales Associate at arenaflex, you will play a critical role in delivering outstanding customer experiences, driving sales growth, and maintaining a clean and safe store environment. You will be responsible for providing expert advice on pet care and retail products, handling customer inquiries, and executing tasks that support the store's sales goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service, identifying customer needs and offering personalized product recommendations to drive sales growth.

• Demonstrate a keen awareness of animal handling and adhere to best practices at all times.
• Perform cashiering duties, balancing the cash register to ensure accurate cash management.
• Execute tasks that aid in achieving the store's assigned sales goal, including stocking and facing merchandise regularly.
• Maintain a clean and safe store environment, including sweeping and mopping floors, dusting, washing windows, and ensuring restrooms are clean.
• Engage in the conduct of quarterly and annual physical inventory audits.
• Devote significant attention to safety procedures, implementing and enforcing regulations and policies to ensure a clean and healthy environment for all occupants of the store.
• Execute assigned special projects as directed by the team leader.

Key Accountabilities

• Ensure the health and happiness of live animals in the store by providing them with proper care based on established standards, guidelines, and policies.

• Skillfully interact with professional contacts via both verbal and written communication, with an unwavering emphasis on the company's interests.
• Provide helpful and friendly customer service to arenaflex guests, identifying their specific needs and offering appropriate product recommendations, while efficiently employing suggestive selling techniques to boost individual sales.
• Secure an outstanding customer experience for all Omni-channel endeavors, including Instacart, Extended Aisle, and Repeat Delivery.
• Abide by the loss prevention regulations implemented by the workplace.
• Support the store's inventory management by contributing to the loading, unloading, and stocking of merchandise according to established standards.
• Maintain that animals, birds, reptiles, and fish in the store receive high-quality care, and their living conditions are clean, safe, and secure.

Essential Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

• 1-2 years of retail sales experience, preferably in a pet care or animal-related environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with customers, colleagues, and management.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for prolonged periods.
• Basic math skills and accuracy with handling cash and operating a cash register.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in pet care or animal-related fields.

• Knowledge of animal behavior, nutrition, and health.
• Familiarity with retail sales software and technology.
