Experienced Data Entry Specialist – Prior Authorization and Utilization Management

Job Summary:
We are looking for a highly skilled Data Entry Specialist to support our prior authorization and utilization management team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing data entry, maintaining and updating authorization requests in our utilization management system, and assisting the utilization management team with ongoing tracking and documentation. The ideal candidate will have excellent typing skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
* Perform data entry to maintain and update authorization requests in the utilization management system
* Assist the utilization management team with ongoing tracking and documentation on authorizations and referrals by policies and guidelines
* Contribute to the authorization review process by documenting necessary medical information such as history, diagnosis, and prognosis based on the referral to the clinical reviewer for determination
* Remain up to date on healthcare, authorization processes, policies, and procedures
* Perform other duties as assigned, including receiving faxes, triaging them, and sending them out to the appropriate teams within the Client's HealthPlan
* Support the intake department to streamline the intake process
* Enter pertinent claims information from source documents
* Correct entries where indicated
* Maintain appropriate records, files, documentation, etc.
* Process faxes for teams including Concurrent Review, Behavioral Health, Medicare, etc.
Performance Expectations/Metrics:
* Process anywhere from 3,500 to 4,000 faxes per day
* Get faxes out to other teams within 1-2 hours of receiving, depending on the form
* Maintain a typing speed of 50-60 WPM
Requirements:
* High school diploma required
* 10,000 keystrokes alphanumeric per hour needed (50-60 WPM)
* Ability to be punctual and reliable on the job
* Open availability to work on any assigned shift, overtime, weekends, or holidays if needed
* Retail experience may transfer from a schedule expectation standpoint, due to the team being open 7 days/week
* Understanding of medical terminology and insurance is preferred
Preferred Qualifications:
* 3 months to 1 year of data processing or clerical experience
* Familiarity with medical terminology and insurance

Compensation:
* $16.00 per hour
