About Us
We are a boutique, specialized statewide applicant workers' compensation firm. We are in search of a professional, task-oriented, and self-motivated Case Manager to join our team. This position is 100% remote and offers an excellent opportunity for growth. Required Experience (Please Read Carefully) Prior experience is heavily weighed and strictly required for this position.
- 2–5 years of Workers' Compensation experience is required.
- SIBTF- Experience would be ideal
- Region-Specific Knowledge: Must have experience specific to the Central Valley region (including Bakersfield, Fresno, Visalia, Hanford, Madera, and Tulare).
Responsibilities
- Manage and Oversee: Manage a full caseload of California Workers' Compensation cases, overseeing all aspects of the file to ensure every task is being properly handled.
- Client Communication: Handle heavy phone usage to speak directly with clients, providing updates, answering questions, and guiding them through the work comp process.
- Case Strategy: Understand the nuances of each case and actively take steps to move the case forward toward settlement and overall resolution.
- Task Delegation & Review: Oversee the scheduling of depositions and med-legal appointments, ensuring support staff are moving tasks from A to Z.
- Medical Report Analysis: Follow up on and evaluate medical reports to determine the next best steps for case progression.
- Calendar Management: Maintain and manage calendars for hearings, appointments, and critical deadlines.
Qualifications & Skills
- California Work Comp Expertise: Deep understanding of California workers' compensation cases, procedures, and lifecycle.
- Strategic Resolution Skills: Proven capability to evaluate a case, understand what is needed, and effectively drive it towards settlement.
- Client Relations: Comfortable spending a significant portion of the day on the phone, demonstrating empathy, patience, and clear communication with clients.
- Case Management Software: Operational knowledge of Merus or other comparable case management systems is a must.
- Microsoft Office: Proficiency in Microsoft Word is a must (1+ year preferred).
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication and grammar skills.
- Organization & Oversight: Strong attention to detail, excellent time management, and the ability to track multiple moving parts across a large caseload.
- Work Ethic: Self-motivated with the ability to manage a caseload efficiently with minimal supervision.
