About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Data Analyst Intern to join our Quality Control Standards and Guidelines Group. As a Data Analyst Intern, you will play a critical role in driving a culture of safety, efficiency, and innovation by identifying statistical patterns and performance metrics to improve the Quality Control division. You will assist in using data to create, present, and make recommendations for groundbreaking ideas and projects, as well as perform basic analysis to alleviate the risk of resistance through process improvements.

Responsibilities and Expectations

The responsibilities and expectations of the Data Analyst Intern may include, but are not limited to:

  • Perform and assist others in the Quality Control group in ideal data collection, validation, and root cause analysis on data components.
  • Help with creating and presenting results from complex data and analysis for both technical and non-technical clients and leaders.
  • Assist with exploring ad-hoc requests resulting from emerging maintenance issues and provide logical answers to enable Senior Leaders to make business decisions while adjusting existing project responsibilities.
  • Present insights, trends, and potential recommendations by using data visualization tools supporting the relevant marks of the investigation to ease partner understanding.
  • Help with creating and disseminating specific queries to pull and coordinate data from different sources, laying out the rhythm, and approving the need of the data requirements.
  • Identify irregularities in processes through reviews/audits and convey findings to the Group.
  • Assess the effectiveness of processes and methods by observing for patterns and errors
  • Ensure that a compliance mindset is at the forefront of every decision
  • May perform other work responsibilities as directed by Group Leader.

Requirements and Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field)

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to gather, organize, and analyze large amounts of data with care and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively listen, understand, and convey ideas and present them in writing, verbally, or through presentations to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to evaluate business issues, identify valuable opportunities for data needs, and interpret resulting metrics.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with a strong understanding of data visualization tools and capabilities, such as Tableau, Alteryx, and QuickBase (desired).
  • Ability to grasp the issue, summarize, and perform root cause analysis on data, and provide recommendations using logic and reasoning.
  • Willingness to use PowerPoint to build presentations for verbal communications (desired).
  • Past internship, capstone projects, and research coursework (desired).
  • Ability to work independently in a team-oriented, help/group-focused environment.
  • Ability to focus on responsibilities seriously and be a self-motivated individual.
  • Past internship experience in a related field (desired).
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential data appropriately.
  • Ability to plan and support large business initiatives.
