Experienced Full Stack Data Engineer – Distributed Systems and Cloud Application Development at arenaflex

About the Role

We're seeking an experienced Full Stack Data Engineer to join our team, working closely with data scientists and other architects to design and build low-latency data products capable of driving business insights and AI models that impact our business, character streams, and beyond. This role is perfect for a detail-oriented individual with a strong foundation in software development who can create highly accessible and reliable distributed data systems and services to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality data for use in arenaflex products.

Key Responsibilities

* Collaborate with data researchers and other architects to design and develop low-latency data products that drive business insights and AI models

• Develop highly accessible and reliable distributed data systems and services to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality data for use in arenaflex products
• Work closely with product management, data science, engineering, and other teams to understand business requirements and develop solutions that meet those needs
• Design and implement scalable, high-performance data processing systems using technologies such as Apache Spark, Apache Flink, and others
• Develop and maintain APIs, services, and structures using frameworks such as Spring, gRPC, and others
• Ensure high availability and reliability of data systems and services, with a focus on proactive issue detection and resolution
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement data pipelines, data warehousing, and data governance solutions
• Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends in data engineering and architecture, and apply that knowledge to drive innovation and improvement in arenaflex products and services

Essential Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field

• Proficiency in at least one major programming language, preferably on the JVM stack (e.g., Java, Scala)
• Experience with SQL (any variation) and database design
• Strong understanding of data engineering principles, including data processing, storage, and retrieval
• Experience with distributed systems, data processing frameworks (e.g., Apache Spark, Apache Flink), and data storage solutions (e.g., NoSQL databases, data warehouses)
• Strong understanding of API design, development, and deployment
• Experience with cloud-based technologies, including cloud storage, data processing, and API management
• Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex problems and develop effective solutions
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams

Preferred Qualifications

* Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field

• Experience with big data technologies, including Hadoop, MapReduce, and Spark
• Experience with data governance, data quality, and data security
• Familiarity with DevOps practices, including continuous integration, continuous deployment, and continuous monitoring
• Experience with cloud-based data platforms, including Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Strong understanding of data architecture, including data modeling, data warehousing, and data governance
• Experience with data visualization tools, including Tableau, Power BI, or D3.js
