What You'll Do

As an External Support Engineer at arenaflex, you'll serve as the critical link between our internal tool development teams and the external content creators who use our solutions daily. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Technical Support Excellence: Provide exceptional technical support to external content teams, addressing questions about tool usage, functionality, and best practices. You'll be the first point of contact when content teams encounter challenges, and your expertise will be the key to resolving their issues efficiently.
  • Documentation & Training: Create comprehensive reference materials, user guides, and training documentation that empower external teams to master our toolset. You'll develop training programs and conduct sessions to ensure our partners can leverage our tools to their fullest potential.
  • Issue Resolution & Debugging: Dive deep into technical problems, analyzing code, workflows, and system behaviors to identify root causes. You'll solve and debug issues ranging from minor glitches to complex technical challenges that affect content production timelines.
  • Strategic Escalation: When issues exceed your scope, you'll escalate complex problems to the internal tool development team while maintaining clear communication with stakeholders. You'll track these issues in JIRA, ensuring transparency and timely resolution.
  • Advocacy & Improvement: Be the voice of external users within arenaflex. Advocate for tools enhancements, workflow improvements, and feature suggestions that will better serve our content creation partners.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with engineers across disciplines to develop new tools and refine existing processes. You'll lead discussions that drive features from initial concept through final implementation.

Skills & Competencies

To succeed in this role, you'll need a strong technical foundation combined with exceptional interpersonal skills. Here's what we're looking for:

  • Technical Proficiency: Ability to read and understand C# code is essential. You'll be working with codebases regularly, so comfort with programming concepts is a must.
  • Communication Mastery: Excellent written and verbal communication skills are crucial. You'll be working with external partners regularly, translating technical concepts into accessible language.

Qualifications

Education

A Computer Science degree or related field is preferred, though we recognize that equivalent work experience can be just as valuable. If you have the skills and passion, we want to hear from you.

Required Experience

  • At least 5 years of experience delivering production-level code in a professional environment
  • Experience supporting live services or tool environments
  • Proficiency with Jira, Confluence, or similar defect tracking and documentation software

Preferred Experience

  • Unity 3D game and tool development experience
  • iOS and Android mobile development experience
  • Background in content creation tools or digital media workflows

Work Environment & Culture

Compensation & Benefits

Salary Range: The expected salary range for this position is $150,000 – $325,000 annually.
