Senior Environmental Health and Safety Specialist - Remote

Our client, a distinguished leader in industrial services, is actively seeking a Senior Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist to join their entirely remote team. This role is essential for developing and implementing robust EHS programs that ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and promote a safe and healthy work environment across the organization. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of EHS best practices, risk assessment methodologies, and regulatory frameworks. You will be responsible for conducting site audits (virtual or remote), developing training materials, investigating incidents, and driving continuous improvement in EHS performance. This position requires a highly motivated, detail-oriented professional with strong analytical and communication skills, capable of influencing stakeholders and fostering a culture of safety from a distance. Responsibilities: Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs and policies. Conduct risk assessments, job hazard analyses (JHAs), and safety audits to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions. Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local EHS regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA). Investigate workplace accidents, injuries, and near misses; develop and implement corrective action plans to prevent recurrence. Develop and deliver EHS training programs to employees at all levels of the organization. Manage the company's emergency preparedness and response plans. Oversee the proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials. Monitor environmental performance and ensure compliance with environmental permits and regulations. Maintain accurate EHS records and prepare regulatory reports as required. Collaborate with management and employees to foster a strong safety culture. Stay up-to-date with changes in EHS legislation and best practices. Conduct internal audits of EHS systems and procedures. Provide technical EHS guidance and support to various departments and project teams. Develop and implement strategies for waste reduction and pollution prevention. Manage EHS-related documentation, including permits, licenses, and compliance records. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in Environmental, Health, and Safety roles, preferably within an industrial or manufacturing setting. In-depth knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other relevant EHS regulations. Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or similar certification is highly preferred. Proven experience in conducting risk assessments, incident investigations, and developing corrective action plans. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create and deliver effective training programs. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Proficiency in EHS management software and Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a remote work environment. Experience with process safety management (PSM) is a plus. Familiarity with environmental management systems (e.g., ISO 14001) and occupational health and safety management systems (e.g., ISO 45001).
