About the Role: Part-Time Data Engineer

We are seeking a talented and motivated Part-Time Data Engineer to join our Information Engineering team at arenaflex. In this role, you'll be instrumental in building systems to process data efficiently and modeling data to power analytics that drive our business forward. Your solutions will range from batch data pipelines that bring business metrics to life to real-time processing services that integrate with our core product features.

What You'll Do

• Design and Build Data Pipeline Solutions: Create robust, scalable data pipelines that efficiently process massive volumes of data across multiple domains including Growth, Finance, Product, Content, and Studio operations.
• Data Modeling and Architecture: Develop comprehensive data models that power analytics and business intelligence across the organization, ensuring data quality and accessibility.
• Real-Time Processing: Build and maintain real-time processing services that integrate with arenaflex's core product features, enabling instant insights and responsive systems.
• Distributed Systems Expertise: Leverage your understanding of big distributed systems to design and implement data solutions that scale with our growing member base.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with business teams, engineering partners, and data science professionals to understand their data needs and deliver solutions that exceed expectations.
• Code Excellence: Write elegant, maintainable code while picking up new technologies independently as our tech stack evolves.
• Documentation and Debugging: Maintain thorough documentation of data systems and possess strong debugging skills to resolve complex data issues efficiently.
• Continuous Innovation: Help teams push the boundaries of analytical insights, developing new product capabilities using data and powering machine learning models.

What We're Looking For

Essential Qualifications:

• Proficiency in at least one major programming language such as Java, Scala, or Python
• Comfortable working with SQL and database design principles
• Strong background in either distributed data processing or software engineering of data services, or data modeling
• Familiarity with big data technologies like Apache Spark or Apache Flink
• Experience working with web-scale datasets
• Strong attention to detail with excellent data intuition
• Passion for data quality and accuracy
• Appreciation for comprehensive documentation practices
• Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively across teams
• Ability to work independently while also participating actively in team discussions
