Responsibilities

As a Scheduler/Customer Service Representative I in Cardiology, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Handling incoming calls to address eligibility, claim, and payment issues with empathy and professionalism
  • Performing patient scheduling and referral work with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Providing quality service and customer satisfaction through effective communication and education
  • Researching and resolving telephone inquiries related to customer service with a focus on resolution and satisfaction
  • Scheduling a high volume of procedures for patients in a computerized scheduling system, ensuring timely and efficient processing
  • Accurately obtaining required information in the scheduling process, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA guidelines
  • Participating in the order entry process, communicating with patients and healthcare providers, and maintaining medical records with precision and care

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Two years of customer service experience, preferably in a hospital or physician's office setting, specifically in Cardiology
  • Experience scheduling patient appointments and handling high-volume call centers
  • Familiarity with Epic EMR systems and data entry skills
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills

Nice-to-Haves

While not required, the following skills and experiences are highly desirable:

  • Experience working in a Cardiology department or related field
  • Proficiency in multiple software systems, including scheduling and EMR platforms
  • Bilingual or multilingual skills
  • Experience with patient engagement and education initiatives
