Sales Analytics Analyst (Remote)

Work from home Full-time role Hiring
Work Flexibility: Remote

What You Will Do

As a Sales Analytics Analyst, you will help lead the evolution of the Ortho Joint Replacement analytics function to enhance insights into field sales performance, identify key trends, and support strategic decision-making. This role combines technical expertise, business acumen, and cross-functional collaboration to develop and maintain reporting tools, drive process improvements, and deliver executive-level insights. You will independently own deliverables from assignment through delivery — ensuring all outputs are validated, accurate, and production-ready before reaching stakeholders.

  • Translate high-level business needs into functional and technical requirements to build impactful reporting and analytics for Senior Sales Management.

  • Lead the roadmap and development of Power BI dashboards and tools, enabling automated, actionable insights across salesforce, hospital, and surgeon performance.

  • Deliver and maintain executive dashboards for monthly and quarterly leadership reviews, national sales events, and performance recognition.

  • Independently troubleshoot data discrepancies across sources, report outputs, and expected values — investigating root causes such as aggregation logic, duplicate records, relationship behavior, and filter context before escalating.

  • Own end-to-end validation of all deliverables, confirming accuracy against multiple independent sources before any report or analysis reaches leadership.

  • Support key annual initiatives, including the national sales meeting and sales quota setting process, by delivering reporting, analysis, and stakeholder support.

  • Serve as the subject matter expert for future-state reporting systems, partnering closely with IT and internal stakeholders.

  • Collaborate across departments (Sales Ops, IT, Compensation, Master Data, etc.) to govern data, validate accuracy, and guide best practices in reporting.

  • Conduct regular audits and gap assessments to enhance reporting accuracy, usability, and efficiency — driving process improvements across systems and tools.

  • Support field performance tracking and trend analysis, providing recommendations to improve outcomes and spotlight recognition opportunities.

  • Manage and prioritize your own workload to meet deadlines with minimal oversight, proactively communicating progress, blockers, and risks to your manager and stakeholders.

  • Support ad hoc requests and ensure timely delivery of performance metrics and sales reports at all levels.

  • Establish and enforce team standards for data modeling, report formatting, and branding while promoting self-service reporting through Power BI adoption and standardization.

What You Need

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field

  • Proficiency in SQL, including the ability to independently write, debug, and optimize queries involving JOINs, window functions, aggregations, and filtering logic using tools such as SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) and Databricks

  • Expertise in Microsoft Power BI, with a strong grasp of data modeling, DAX, star schema design principles, and dashboard development — including the ability to leverage existing enterprise dimension tables and data structures

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently on technical deliverables — completing report builds, data pulls, and analyses from assignment through delivery with minimal direction

  • Strong attention to detail and quality orientation, with experience validating data outputs against multiple sources, identifying anomalies, and resolving discrepancies before delivery

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint for executive-ready reporting

Preferred

  • MBA or Master's degree

  • Prior experience in a sales operations, commercial analytics, or revenue reporting environment

  • Strong communication skills and experience partnering with Senior Leadership to deliver insights, including a track record of proactively surfacing risks and providing progress updates without being prompted

  • Deep understanding of data visualization and analytics best practices, with the ability to teach others

  • Experience applying established team or enterprise data standards (formatting, branding, modeling conventions) to individual deliverables

  • Experience leveraging Microsoft Fabric tools, including Dataflows, Data Warehouses, and Lakehouses, to build scalable data pipelines and support end-to-end analytics solutions

  • Experience using and implementing AI solutions, including leveraging machine learning models and generative AI to automate processes, enhance analytics, and drive data-informed decision making
