Nordstrom Product Group (NPG) - Assistant Technical Designer, Rack Women's Apparel - Hybrid (Seattle, WA)
Nordstrom is a leading fashion retailer, and they are seeking an Assistant Technical Designer to join their Technical Design team. The role involves assisting in the creation of Nordstrom Brand products, ensuring they meet design and fit intent while supporting the technical design process throughout development and production.
Responsibilities
- Assist Technical Design Team to develop clear, concise Tech Packs to include measurement worksheet and construction images to align with Design intent and Brand DNA
- Assist in evaluating samples to ensure product specifications, quality and construction standards are executed
- Measure samples
- Support Technical Design Team and participate in fit sessions as needed
- Support Technical Design Team to meet calendar milestones and due dates
- Support internal teams to maintain sample organization throughout development and production lifecycle
- Assist in special projects as directed
Skills
- Bachelor's Degree in Apparel Design, Apparel Manufacturing, Pattern Making or equivalent industry experience
- 1+ years of experience in Technical Design, preferably within Women's apparel
- Organization and time management skills and ability to work independently as well as collaboratively
- Strong interpersonal skills, including clear, effective written and verbal communication
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, etc
- Proficiency with the Adobe Creative Suite – Illustrator, Photoshop
- Exposure to Product Lifecycle Management Software
- Exposure to 3D apparel development preferred – Browzwear, CLO, Optitex
- Exposure to 2D pattern software preferred – Gerber Accumark, Optitex
