JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Penn State Greater Allegheny Gruskin Learning Center is seeking part-time professional tutor?s to tutor within the following areas:

• English
• Sociology
• Psychology
• Upper level Mathematics
• Statistics
• Physics
• Sciences

Job Duties

• To provide individual and small group tutoring sessions.
• As a member of the Gruskin Learning Center team, a Professional Tutor is expected to maintain ongoing communications with the Coordinator of the Gruskin Learning Center.
• To provide workshops related to your tutoring content area.
• To assist with maintaining the Gruskin Learning Center database.
• To provide workshops and create workshops that will assist students with being successful.
• To maintain accurate records of student tutoring sessions.
• To provide classroom visits to assigned courses each semester.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements and Qualifications

• A Bachelor?s degree is required and a Master?s degree is preferred in the appropriate discipline from an accredited institution.
• Prior tutoring or teaching experience is strongly preferred.
• A tutoring demonstration may be required as part of the on-campus interview.
• Will require someone who is able to be flexible with their scheduling.
