Junior AWS Java Full Stack Developer (Backend-Focused)
CGI is a leading IT and business consulting services firm, and they are seeking a Junior AWS Java Full Stack Developer (Backend-Focused) to join their team. The role involves supporting the design, development, and delivery of scalable cloud-based applications, primarily focusing on backend services, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.
Responsibilities
- Contributing to backend development using Java and Spring Boot within AWS environments
- Supporting the development of microservices-based solutions
- Assisting in the design and implementation of RESTful APIs
- Helping integrate applications with databases and external systems
- Participating in code reviews
- Troubleshooting issues
- Supporting deployments
Skills
- 1–3 years of overall software development experience
- 1–2 years of hands-on experience with Java
- Working knowledge of Spring Boot and familiarity with the Spring ecosystem (Spring Data, Spring Security, etc.)
- Basic understanding of RESTful API development and microservices concepts
- Hands-on experience with AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, or API Gateway
- Exposure to cloud-native application development
- Familiarity with relational databases (Postgres, MySQL, Oracle) and basic SQL
- Basic understanding of CI/CD concepts and version control systems (Git)
- Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn new technologies
- Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
- Exposure to containerization technologies such as Docker
- Familiarity with messaging systems (Kafka, SNS/SQS) or caching technologies (Redis)
- Working knowledge of front-end technologies (Angular, React, or similar)
- Understanding of Agile development methodologies
