Job description:
- Position: KIPP New Jersey - School Year ?23- ?24 Certified Teacher -Tutor ($40 hourly) or Noncertified Tutor ($30 hourly)
- Hours on Site: TBD - To apply, please be available from 8:30 am - 3:30 pm
- Days: TBD - 3 days a week (Tutoring will not take place on Wednesdays)
- Time Frame: 9/1/23 - 6/1/24 (Paid training will be provided prior to the start date)
- Location: We will be serving 5 different KIPP schools in Newark, NJ (addresses TBD)
- Engage with scholars in grades K-4 to build on existing mathematics skills.
- Complete daily records on scholar progress and site needs using the tools provided.
- Use data to drive instruction.
- Communicate regularly with your site coordinator to provide optimum learning- experiences for scholars.
- Participate in coaching from an instructional coach.
- Use an asset-based approach in working with scholars.
- Be responsive and work collaboratively with other tutors and site staff.
- Complete all training.
- Experience working with young children, preferably in a learning and teaching capacity.
- Standard certificate, certificate of eligibility (CE), or certificate of eligibility with advanced standing (CEAS) to receive the $40 hourly rate.
- New Jersey Certification of Criminal History (fingerprint form).
- Experience with Google Suite functions including Google Sheets and Forms.
- Professional skills include attention to detail, timely and proactive communication, and job preparedness.
- Reliable transportation to travel to sites.
- Genuine desire to work with young children in a teaching capacity, building on foundational skills and closing learning gaps using formative and summative data and strong teaching pedagogy.
- Background Clearance - The final offer of employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a background check and employment authorization verification.
- NJ Fingerprint Certificate and local COVID requirements of the KIPP site at which you are working including any mask rules must be followed while indoors.
