Engineering Technician Junior (Eng Tech) & Training Forest Technologist (TFT)
Encompass Engineering Ltd. provides Project Management and Engineering design services. They are seeking an Engineering Technician Junior to take a hands-on role in survey and design of bridge and access infrastructure, working independently and collaboratively with a team.
Responsibilities
- You’ll be working both independently and under the direction of our Principal Engineer and other professionals
- You’ll quickly grow to be responsible for field RTK surveys, drone photography, data management and desktop Engineering designs for forestry, energy and urban/municipal sites and access
- Your focus will be in a combination of areas based on your background and experience, including RTK/drone surveys and Engineering CAD designs, access development planning, bridge design, site civil works planning, as-built surveys, drone photogrammetry, LiDAR analysis and any other untapped value you can provide
Skills
- Having strong written and verbal communication is key
- You'll need to be able to build and maintain strong relationships with clients and contractors
- Have a valid Class 5 Canadian Driver's Licence
- This is a full-time position with field, office, telecommuting and travel elements
- Must be able to support field crews in remote areas of BC and Alberta as required
- Preference will be given for registration or eligibility for registration with ASTTBC
- We will also consider an EIT or junior candidate, who is eligible for registration with EGBC
- Competency with AutoCAD, GIS, Total Station and GPS/RTK systems is an asset
- Construction site and pipeline and/or natural resource-related field experience is an asset
