Job Description

Are you passionate about video games and have a knack for clear communication? Tencent Games is looking for enthusiastic and detail-oriented individuals to join our team as an Entry-Level Game Tester / Community Moderator. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the quality and success of our titles while directly engaging with our player base. You will play a crucial role in identifying bugs, providing feedback on gameplay, and fostering a positive and inclusive environment within our online game communities. This is a 100% remote position, offering flexibility and the chance to work from anywhere in Hong Kong.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute test plans and identify software defects (bugs) in new and existing game titles across various platforms.
  • Document and report bugs clearly and concisely, including steps to reproduce, expected results, and actual results.
  • Provide constructive feedback on game design, usability, and overall player experience.
  • Actively monitor in-game chat, forums, and social media channels for our game communities.
  • Enforce community guidelines and policies to ensure a safe and respectful environment for all players.
  • Respond to player inquiries, feedback, and support requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Escalate complex issues or persistent problems to senior moderation or development teams.
  • Stay informed about game updates, new features, and community trends.
  • Collaborate with development, QA, and community management teams to improve game quality and player satisfaction. Required Skills
  • High level of passion for video games across various genres and platforms.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Cantonese.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify subtle discrepancies.
  • Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn new software tools quickly.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting.
  • A positive attitude and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to remain impartial and handle sensitive situations with professionalism.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience participating in online game communities or forums.
  • Familiarity with bug reporting tools (e.g., Jira, Bugzilla) is a plus but not required.
  • Basic understanding of quality assurance (QA) principles in software development.
  • Experience with live service games and their operational cycles.
