Position Overview: Alteryx Sales Engineers are trusted technical advisors who help enterprise customers modernize their analytics strategy with AI, automation, and cloud-based data solutions. In this role, you will play the pivotal role of bridging the gap between customer needs and Alteryx’s technical capabilities. This role involves working closely with the sales team to provide technical expertise, product demonstrations, and solution recommendations tailored to prospective clients. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of data analytics, integrating with Cloud Data Warehouses, on-premises to cloud journeys, and the evolving tech industry. Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead technical engagements with strategic customers, providing pre-sales support for pre-qualified opportunities and aligning Alteryx solutions with their AI, automation, and cloud analytics strategies.
  • Design and deliver impactful demos and proof-of-concepts (POCs) showcasing the feasibility and value of Alteryx solutions in the customer’s environment, including addressing technical objections and demonstrating how Alteryx One provides competitive advantages in cloud, hybrid, and on-prem environments
  • Stay ahead of industry trends, including advancements in AI, cloud-native architectures, data governance/security best practices, and how Alteryx integrates with modern cloud data warehouses and AI/ML workflows
  • Remain up to date on Alteryx solutions and features, competitive products, and emerging technologies while maintaining familiarity and adherence to all company methods and procedures.
  • Advise best practices for AI-driven data automation, cloud cost optimization, and scalable analytics workflows, helping customers accelerate digital transformation.
  • Work with sales management to drive sales through optimizing processes, training of team, and development of a culture of collaboration, learning, and success.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of pre-sales or consultant experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or data science, preferably in the software industry. This includes at least 3 years of experience in the field.
  • Knowledge of public clouds (AWS, Azure, GCP) with familiarity in data warehousing solutions like Snowflake and Databricks. Proficiency in SQL, Python, R, Apache Spark or similar product or language is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of data analytics, data science, ETL processes, AI/ML workflows, automation, and model deployment within cloud environments. Proficiency in using Alteryx or similar data analytics tools is highly desirable.
  • Experience setting up data connectivity for both on-prem and cloud sources, including ODBC configurations for on-prem systems and OAuth/SSO-based integrations for cloud platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle complex selling situations, involving multiple departments and levels of the organization (i.e., Line of business, C-suite, IT, etc.)
  • Ability to handle a fast-paced environment and continuously re-prioritize while maintaining a constant focus on participating in the sales process.
  • Travel up to 40% or as required.
  • NEEDS TO BE LOCATED IN NEW ENGLAND REGION WITH PREFERENCE TO THE BOSTON AREA

Compensation: Alteryx is committed to fair, equitable, and transparent compensation. Final compensation is determined by several factors, including but not limited to relevant work experience, education, certifications, skills, and geographic location. The base salary range for this role in the United States is $96,600–$140,000 with an On-Target Earnings (OTE) range of $138,000–$200,000. In addition to base pay and commission eligibility, this role includes clear forms of additional compensation, such as:

  • A monthly Connectivity Plus stipend of $150 to support remote work-related expenses
  • An annual $200 home office reimbursement
