Job Description

Career.zycto is actively seeking an accomplished and highly motivated Risk Advisory Consultant to join our growing team. This is a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to work from your preferred location within Canada, while still being an integral part of our Ottawa-centric operations and team culture. As a Risk Advisory Consultant, you will play a pivotal role in helping our clients identify, assess, mitigate, and monitor various risks that could impact their operations, financial stability, and strategic objectives. You will engage with a diverse portfolio of clients across multiple sectors, providing expert advice on enterprise risk management, operational risk, regulatory compliance, cybersecurity risk, and governance frameworks. Your day-to-day will involve conducting thorough risk assessments, developing robust risk mitigation strategies, and assisting clients in implementing effective internal controls. You will be instrumental in translating complex risk concepts into practical, actionable recommendations, fostering a stronger risk-aware culture within client organizations. This role demands a blend of analytical prowess, strategic thinking, and exceptional communication skills to build strong client relationships and deliver impactful solutions. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive risk assessments, including identification, analysis, and evaluation of financial, operational, strategic, and compliance risks.
  • Develop and implement robust risk management frameworks, policies, and procedures tailored to client needs.
  • Provide expert advice on regulatory compliance, corporate governance, internal controls, and enterprise risk management (ERM) best practices.
  • Design and execute risk mitigation strategies, monitoring plans, and reporting mechanisms.
  • Prepare detailed reports, presentations, and recommendations for senior management and executive boards.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with client teams to integrate risk management into business processes and strategic decision-making.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging risks, and regulatory changes to provide proactive advisory services.
  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to the firm's knowledge base and thought leadership initiatives.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in risk management, internal audit, compliance, or consulting.
  • Proven experience with various risk frameworks (e.g., COSO ERM, ISO 31000).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen eye for detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of presenting complex information clearly.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional certifications such as CRISC, FRM, CRM, CPA, CIA, or CISA.
  • Master's degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Experience with GRC (Governance, Risk, and Compliance) software platforms.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity risk principles and frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001).
  • Previous experience working remotely in a client-facing consulting role.
