[Remote] Privacy Specialist I (Remote)
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield is seeking a Privacy Specialist to assist in the development and management of their privacy program. The role involves collaboration with various departments to ensure compliance with privacy-related policies and regulations, as well as providing guidance on handling protected health information.
Responsibilities
- Performs administrative work associated with protected health information requests
- Collaboration with legal counsel and management, key departments, and committees to ensure organization has and maintains appropriate privacy and confidentiality consent, authorization forms, and information notices and materials reflecting current organization and legal practices and requirements
- Implement privacy & compliance procedures providing oral and written responses to privacy questions based on privacy regulations
- Provides guidance with regards to privacy procedures and handling of protected health information
Skills
- Education Level: Associate's Degree
- Excellent writing, grammatical and editing skills required
- Excellent oral communication skills
- Strong customer service orientation
- Experience with HIPAA and/or highly sensitive legislative and/or congressional issues management
