[Remote] Online Tutor (Independent Contractor) — Dojo Tutor × ClassDojo
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. ClassDojo is a company dedicated to helping every child love learning. The Dojo Tutor role involves matching students with skilled tutors for personalized 1:1 online sessions in reading, writing, and math, allowing tutors to set their own schedules and focus on instruction.
Responsibilities
- Offer a reliable weekly availability (many successful tutors set 5+ hours/week) so families can book
- Personalize instruction, celebrate progress, and communicate clearly with families
- After trials, guide families on next steps for ongoing learning (subscriptions)
- Engage with feedback and optional trainings to keep getting better
Skills
- Experience helping kids grow in reading, writing, and/or math (e.g., phonics, number sense, current methods)
- Strong communication and rapport-building skills with children and families
- Professional online setup: computer with camera/mic, stable internet, quiet, well-lit space
- Willingness to complete a background check (required for activation)
- Teaching certification is a plus, not required
