[Remote] Data Science Analyst II (Full Time) - United States

The Data Science Analyst II role involves analyzing large datasets to provide actionable insights, developing predictive algorithms, and maintaining data systems to optimize data quality.

Responsibilities

  • Acquire, clean and structure data from various sources and maintain databases/data systems
  • Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
  • Develop, prototype and test predictive algorithms
  • Filter and "clean" data, and review computer reports, printouts, and performance indicators to locate and correct code problems
  • Develop and implement data collection systems and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and data quality
  • Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports

Skills

  • Completion within the past 3 years, or current enrollment with expected completion within 12 months, of a certification or degree program (e.g., Associates, Apprenticeship, Boot Camp, or Certification in a specialized program + 3 years of relevant experience, High School Diploma + 4 years of relevant experience, Bachelors + 2 years of relevant experience) or Masters + 0 years of relevant experience. Relevant fields include: Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or equivalent
  • Proficiency in data manipulation tools (SQL, Hadoop, etc.), programming languages (R, Python, XML, JavaScript, or ETL), and solid understanding of reporting packages (e.g., Business Objects) and statistical packages for data analysis (Excel, SPSS, SAS, etc.)
  • Technical knowledge in data models, database design, data mining, and segmentation techniques, with proficiency in writing queries, report writing, and presenting findings
  • Experience with Oracle databases
  • Familiarity with advanced machine learning techniques, neural networks, and deep learning frameworks like TensorFlow or PyTorch
  • Expertise in analyzing time-series data and forecasting
  • Familiarity with software development methodologies
  • Strong presentation and storytelling skills to effectively communicate findings to technical and non-technical audiences
