Bodily Injury Examiner (Claims Specialist)
Country-Wide Insurance Company is a downtown Manhattan property/casualty insurance company seeking serious and articulate Bodily Injury Examiners. The role involves investigating and handling personal auto claims and complex commercial auto bodily injury claims, ensuring compliance with NYS comparative negligence rules and maintaining thorough documentation throughout the process.
Responsibilities
- Investigation and handling of personal auto claims and complex commercial auto bodily injury claims
- In-house investigation
- Analysis of exposure and defense strategy
- Negotiations with adversaries
- Complete documentation of everything that transpires in a case
- Good communication with colleagues and adversaries
Skills
- At least one year experience for the relatively new position
- 5+ years experience for the more experienced examiner
- Ability to investigate and handle personal auto claims and complex commercial auto bodily injury claims
- Familiarity with NYS comparative negligence rules
- Ability to handle claims that are generally litigated in the New York State courts
- Strong organizational skills
- Good writing skills
- Ability to maintain complete documentation of everything that transpires in a case
- Good communication skills with colleagues and adversaries
- Articulate and able to discuss situations in a clear and convincing manner, both in person and over the phone
