Senior GIS Data Analyst – Telecom MSO

Job Posting Position: Senior GIS Data Analyst – Telecom/MSO Job Type: Full-time Location: Minnesota, Remote Position Description: RAMTeCH Software Solutions is a global GIS consulting, data management, and software solutions company specializing in the utility and telecommunications industries. We are seeking a Senior-level GIS Analyst to work either in our Stillwater, MN (Minneapolis/St. Paul area) office or remotely by telecommunication. Primary responsibilities of this position include supporting projects with GIS analysis, spatial data conversion/migration/conflation scopes, and quality assurance testing, for telecom and MSO (cable) applications based on Esri’s ArcGIS Portal and Platform solutions. The successful candidate will work in a team environment with project managers, GIS technicians/analysts, consultants, developers, offshore technical resources, and clients to support a variety of telecom/MSO GIS projects that are either in production or proposal stages. Position Requirements: For Senior-level consideration, considerable experience in GIS consulting services and/or internal telecommunications or MSO (Multiple Service Operator (cable)) company operating experience with fiber and coax outside or inside plant design is strongly preferred.

• Experience in one or more of the following areas: user needs assessments, GIS analysis, spatial data testing and

QA/QC, business process analysis, HFC or fiber network design/posting/drafting.

• Research, assess, integrate, manipulate, extract, and analyze spatial data for both geospatial and operational

databases, and various ancillary sources.

• Experience in dealing with multiple and disparate sources for spatial data conversion, migration, and conflation.

Safe Software’s FME application skills are desired but not required.

• Experience with database analysis and design, and data assessment and integration of large telecom/MSO

datasets. Esri Utility Network and Geometric Network telecom and/or MSO data modeling experience is strongly desired.

• Assist with analysis, design, and functional specification documentation writing.
• Experience with a combination of the following applications: ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online,

ArcGIS Portal, GE Smallworld, spatialNET, 3-GIS, Schneider Electric Fiber Manager and DHFC, Bentley Comms, Intergraph G/Comms, AutoCAD, Lode Data, and Web Services.

• Experience with database management systems is essential: Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL.
• Knowledge of fiber and coax network planning, design, permitting, construction, and as-built posting processes.

FTTx, GPON, Hybrid Fiber-Coax (HFC) architecture, node-splits, node-segmentation design are desirable.

• Experience with telecommunications and MSO business and operations.
• Experience developing reports and presentations.
• Written and verbal communication skills and excellent listening skills for individual interactions and in group

settings. Experience and Education Required:

• More is preferred, but a MINIMUM of 3 - 5 years’ post-academic experience in GIS applications and/or data

management with direct experience in the telecommunications or cable industry strongly preferred.

• Education: Bachelor’s or master’s in computer science, GIS, cartography/geography, engineering, or a related field.

• Travel: Between 10% and 20% (*not applicable during COVID-19 mitigation restrictions, and will resume once client

operations return to normal)

• Work Authorization: US Citizenship REQUIRED. Work Visa sponsorship will not be provided.
• Pay: $60,000 - $80,000 per year based on applicable industry experience.
