Title: Inventory Operations Coordinator Department Code & Name: Retail / Merchandising & Ecommerce Reports To: Director of Planning, Merchandising FLSA Status: Exempt Direct Reports: 0 Location: Remote (U.S.-based) with occasional travel for site visits and business-related events Job Summary: The Retail Operations Coordinator, Merchandising & Ecommerce supports the Merchandising, Planning, and Ecommerce teams by ensuring accurate, timely, and launch-ready product, pricing, and inventory data across systems. This highly execution-focused role plays a critical part in bringing LOVB merchandise to life — from team launches to seasonal drops — by maintaining data integrity, supporting customer experience, and contributing to scalable retail operations in a fast-growing professional sports league. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the first point of contact for customer inquiries via email, social media (TikTok), and future platform-integrated support tools.
  • Resolve order issues, returns, shipping delays, and product-related questions promptly and professionally.
  • Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction and brand trust through responsive, empathetic communication.
  • Document and escalate recurring customer or system issues to appropriate internal teams.
  • Support Merchants and Planners with SKU creation, product setup, pricing, and inventory data entry.
  • Maintain accurate and consistent product information across merchandising, planning, and ecommerce systems.
  • Partner with the Ecommerce team to ensure products are site-ready for launches, drops, and promotions.
  • Validate, audit, and reconcile data across systems and reports to ensure accuracy.
  • Assist with seasonal and team-specific merchandise launches, including timelines and readiness checks.
  • Run and maintain sales, inventory, and performance reports to support business decision-making.
  • Maintain and update product data in Shopify, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
  • Conduct regular audits of product listings, checkout flows, and user experience to identify and resolve issues.
  • Support testing and QA for product launches, promotions, and site updates.
  • Document processes and contribute to building scalable retail operations as LOVB grows.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • 3+ years of experience in retail operations, merchandising, planning, or ecommerce.
  • Strong attention to detail with comfort in high-volume data entry and audits.
  • Proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets, including basic formulas; lookups and pivots preferred.
  • Experience with ecommerce platforms or retail systems; Shopify strongly preferred.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a customer-first mindset.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • High attention to detail and ability to handle data and customer information with discretion.
  • Self-starter who can work independently while collaborating effectively in a remote team environment.
  • Interest in sports, volleyball, or building something new from the ground up.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of three years of relevant experience in retail operations, merchandising, planning, ecommerce, or a related field required.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to operate a computer and use a keyboard, mouse, and video conferencing tools for extended periods.
  • Ability to clearly communicate via video, phone, email, and written channels.
  • Ability to work effectively in a remote environment.
  • Occasional travel may be required for site visits, team launches, or business-related events.
