Software Development Engineer
Twist Bioscience is a company focused on synthetic biology, and they are seeking a Software Development Engineer to build software for their highly customized production pipeline. The role involves collaborating with end users and creating scalable frameworks to support operations in drug discovery and genetic engineering.
Responsibilities
- Work on mission-critical systems in close collaboration with end users to build software for the production pipeline
- Create robust and scalable frameworks that enable rapid introduction of new products and processes into operations
- Question the status quo and problem solve issues that directly affect 24x7 operations
Skills
- Mastery of object-oriented programming concepts, large-scale software architecture, networking and distributed systems
- Passion for software technologies and knowledge of multiple languages and frameworks
- Distributed systems
- BS/MS in Computer Science / Engineering and 1-3 years industry experience or equivalent work experience
- Modern Javascript on the front end and server-side (React or Angular, Node)
- Python or other back-end language
- SQL & NoSQL database modeling and optimization
- Expert at designing clean APIs
- Experience in working with cloud computing and CI/CD tools
