Estate Planning Associate (Midlevel to Senior) – Seattle Stokes Lawrence is seeking an experienced associate to join the top-tier estate planning practice in our Seattle office. About the Team Our Estate Planning group is known for its thoughtful, strategic counsel and long-term client relationships. We advise clients on all aspects of estate planning, including wills, trusts, charitable giving, business succession, probate, and estate and gift tax matters. Our team works closely with clients to preserve wealth, protect family legacies, and navigate complex legal and financial landscapes.

About the Role

We are seeking a mid-level to senior associate who can take on sophisticated estate planning and administration matters with increasing autonomy and direct client interaction. You’ll be supported by experienced attorneys who value mentorship, collaboration, and professional growth. This role offers a clear path for advancement and the opportunity to deepen your expertise in a thriving practice area. We’re Looking For:

  • At least 4 years of relevant experience
  • Experience working with clients and handling various types of estate and trust matters, including the drafting of wills, trusts, powers of attorney, healthcare directives and related documents, assisting with the administration of trusts and probate estates, and providing tax support and tax research with the preparation of filing of federal and state estate tax returns
  • Familiarity with the Internal Revenue Code and Treasury Regulations relevant to estate and gift tax planning preferred
  • Strong academic performance and superior analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • LLM in Taxation is preferred, but not required

Compensation and Benefits

Compensation for this position will be determined based on the individual’s qualifications and experience. For fourth to eighth year candidates, the expected annual salary range is $149,000 - $197,000* • Associates are eligible for non-discretionary hours bonuses of up to $15,000 per quarter (up to $60,000 annually). Bonus amounts begin at 1400 annualized hours. Additional opportunities for a discretionary annual bonus are available.
