Job Description

This role requires travel to care centers as needed. The Facilities Director is a strategic leader responsible for the oversight and management of all facilities operations across multiple care centers that spans several markets. This role ensures a safe, compliant, and well-maintained environment for patients, residents, staff, and visitors. The Director will develop and implement facilities management strategies, manage budgets, oversee maintenance and capital projects, and may lead a team of facilities professionals and third-party partners. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in healthcare or a similar regulated industry, with a strong background in multi-site facilities management, project management, and a deep understanding of relevant codes and regulations. Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Planning & Leadership:
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive facilities management strategy that aligns with the organization's goals and long-term vision.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of facilities managers and maintenance staff across all care centers to meet budgeted performance levels. Use performance management techniques to monitor and demonstrate achievement of service levels and responsiveness to urgent issues as they arise.
  • Establish and maintain high standards for facility appearance, cleanliness, safety, and functionality.
  • Operational Management:
  • Oversee all aspects of building maintenance, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, life safety systems, and general repairs (as required) or work closely with landlord(s) or other management organizations for leased environments.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor preventative maintenance programs to ensure the longevity of all assets and minimize downtime.
  • Manage and prioritize work orders, ensuring timely and effective completion.
  • Conduct regular site visits and inspections to assess facility conditions and identify areas for improvement.
  • Manage any capital equipment, licensing, safety inspections, maintenance, or replacement efforts as needed.
  • Work closely with Procurement on all vendor related items and other items required by the care centers.
  • Manage CLIA certifications for laboratory services and assist care centers with certification processes as needed.
  • Compliance & Safety:
  • Ensure all facilities are in full compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including but not limited to CMS, OSHA, NFPA, ADA, and state health department requirements.
  • Develop and manage emergency preparedness plans, including disaster response and business continuity protocols.
  • Oversee life safety systems, fire drills, and regular safety audits.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation for all compliance-related activities and inspections.
  • Financial Management:
  • Develop, manage and track with the operational leader, the annual operating budget and capital budgets for all facilities.
  • Source, negotiate, and manage contracts with vendors and service providers.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement efficiency improvements without compromising quality or safety.
  • Project Management:
  • Lead and manage all capital projects, including new construction, renovations, and major equipment installations.
  • Develop project scopes, budgets, and timelines, and ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and internal stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. Master's degree a plus
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in facilities management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role overseeing multiple sites.
  • Experience in a healthcare, physician practice, senior living, or other regulated environment is highly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of building systems, preventative maintenance programs, and project management principles.
  • In-depth understanding of relevant codes and regulations (e.g., CMS, OSHA, NFPA, ADA).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets, negotiate contracts, and lead a team.
  • Proficiency with facilities management software (e.g., CMMS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CFM, FMP) are a plus.

The salary range for this role is $100,000 - $120,000 in base pay and exclusive of any bonuses or benefits (medical, dental, vision, life, and pet insurance, 401K, paid time off, and other wellness programs).This role is also eligible for an annual bonus targeted at 15% and restricted stock units. The base pay offered will be determined based on relevant factors such as experience, education, and geographic location.
