Responsibilities

As a Data Entry Specialist at blithequark, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our data. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Data Entry and Verification: Accurately enter data into specified fields or onto storage devices, using a variety of data entry devices, such as keyboards and computers.
  • Data Compilation and Verification: Compile, sort, and verify the accuracy of data prior to entry, ensuring that all information is complete and accurate.
  • Error Identification and Correction: Identify and correct data entry errors, reporting issues to supervisors as necessary to maintain data integrity.
  • Data Comparison and Validation: Compare entered data with source documents to ensure accuracy and validate the integrity of our data.
  • Log Maintenance: Maintain logs of activities and completed work, providing a clear record of your progress and accomplishments.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned by your supervisor or management team.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you'll need to possess the following qualifications:

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Experience: 5+ years of related experience in data entry or a similar role, with a proven track record of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Computer Applications: Proficient in computer applications, especially Microsoft Word and Excel, with the ability to learn new software and systems quickly.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with colleagues, supervisors, and customers.
  • Attention to Detail: Excellent attention to detail and strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Documentation Skills: Capable of accurately documenting and recording customer/client information, with a focus on maintaining confidentiality and discretion.

Nice-to-Haves

While the following qualifications are not essential, they would be highly beneficial in this role:

  • Experience with data entry software: Familiarity with data entry software, such as optical character recognition (OCR) or automated data capture (ADC) systems.
  • Knowledge of industry-specific regulations: Understanding of industry-specific regulations and compliance requirements, such as HIPAA or PCI-DSS.
  • Certifications or training: Relevant certifications or training, such as Certified Data Entry Specialist (CDES) or Certified Administrative Assistant (CAA).
