About the Role

We are seeking dependable, motivated, and team-oriented individuals to fill part-time/casual positions (19 hours per week or less) in our retail operations. As a Customer Service & Sales Assistant at blithequark, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, driving sales, and maintaining a high level of visual merchandising. You will work closely with our team to ensure a seamless customer experience, both in-store and online.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet and welcome customers, demonstrating "active selling" and providing product information and guidance to ensure a high-quality customer service experience
  • Assist in maintaining the appearance of the sales floor, setting up seasonal promotions and visual displays, and regularly monitoring assigned areas for product restocking and recovery
  • Operate cash registers, assist customers with check-out, and execute appropriate cash handling procedures
  • Help receive and process incoming merchandise, assist with special orders and store-to-store shipping requests, and possibly handle seasonal perishable goods
  • Support the digital and in-store shopping experience by assisting with responding to customer inquiries

Qualifications and Skills

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess excellent customer service skills, a pleasant personality, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. You should be dependable, flexible, and able to communicate effectively with customers and colleagues. Moderate computer/systems competency is also required, as well as the ability to occasionally climb ladders, lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and stand for long periods of time.

Compensation and Perks

The hire rate for this position is starting at $16.25/hour, with a variable schedule based on availability, business needs, and work performance. Some nights, weekends, and holidays may be required. As a part-time/casual employee, you will not be eligible for benefits, but you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and innovative environment with a range of perks and benefits.
