Job Overview

The Data Engineer - Information Analytics will be responsible for designing, building, testing, and automating data pipelines from various internal and external data sources. This role requires collaboration with product owners, engineering, and data platform teams to create and deliver digital data pipelines that serve as the single source of truth across the organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data engineering, with experience in creating and operationalizing data pipelines, as well as working with cloud technologies and large datasets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Creates and operationalizes data pipelines to make data available for consumption (BI, Advanced analytics, Services)
  • Works with data architects and data/BI engineers to design data pipelines and suggests continuous improvement of data storage, data ingestion, data quality, and governance
  • Designs, develops, and implements ETL/ELT processes using IICS (Informatica Cloud Services)
  • Utilizes Azure services like Azure SQL DW (Synapse), ADLS, Azure Event Hub, and Azure Data Factory to optimize and accelerate the delivery of our data products and services
  • Implements big data and NoSQL solutions by developing scalable data processing platforms to drive high-value insights to the organization
  • Identifies, designs, and implements internal process improvements: automating manual processes, and enhancing data delivery
  • Identifies ways to improve data reliability, efficiency, and quality of data management
  • Presents technical concepts to non-technical audiences, both written and verbal
  • Performs peer reviews for other data engineers' work

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 2+ years of experience designing and operationalizing data pipelines with large and complex datasets
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience with Informatica PowerCenter
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience with Informatica IICS
  • 2+ years of experience working with Cloud technologies; like ADLS, Azure Databricks, Spark, Azure Synapse, and other big data technologies
  • 2+ years of experience in Data Modeling, ETL, and Data Warehousing
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience implementing data integration processes like event/message-based integration (Kafka, Azure Event Hub), ETL
  • Solid understanding of database storage concepts; Data Lake, Social Databases, NoSQL, Graph, Data Warehousing
  • Able to work in a fast-paced agile development environment

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:

  • Microsoft Azure/comparable certifications
  • Experience delivering data solutions through agile software development approaches
  • Familiarity with the retail industry
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience working with SAP integration tools, including Bodies
  • Experience with UC4 Job Scheduler
