Key Responsibilities

As a Remote Prior Authorization Pharmacy Technician, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Responding to incoming calls from members, providers, and other stakeholders, providing professional phone assistance and guidance through the prior authorization process
  • Maintaining accurate and timely documentation of all approvals, denials, and transfers, ensuring seamless communication between our clinical staff and external stakeholders
  • Collaborating with our clinical team to resolve complex clinical questions and judgment calls, ensuring that all decisions are made in the best interest of our members
  • Providing exceptional customer service, responding to member inquiries and concerns in a timely and professional manner
  • Participating in ongoing training and education to stay up-to-date on industry developments, regulatory requirements, and company policies and procedures

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of one year of experience in a customer service position, preferably in a high-volume call center environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with members, providers, and clinical staff
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to analyze complex clinical information and make informed decisions
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to maintain accurate and timely documentation
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with multiple priorities and deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, we prefer candidates with:

  • Pharmacy Technician Certification at a State or National level
  • Experience working in a healthcare or social services setting
  • Familiarity with electronic health records (EHRs) and other healthcare technology systems

Compensation, Perks, and Benefits

We offer a competitive compensation package, including:

  • A salary of $21.24 per hour
  • Bi-weekly pay
  • Benefits available to full-time employees after 90 days of employment, including health, optical, dental, life, and short-term disability insurance
  • A 401(k) with a company match available for full-time employees with one year of service on our eligibility dates
