Job Summary

We're seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented individual to join our Quality Assurance Department as a Part-time Insurance Verification Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for verifying life and health insurance applications directly with potential customers, gathering information, and accurately documenting it in our database. If you're a self-starter, enjoy working independently, and have excellent communication and customer service skills, we encourage you to apply.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Make outbound calls to potential customers to verify and document required information to finalize applications for underwriting assessment
  • Use the Quality Assurance database and conduct appropriate assessments on what additional customer information or verification is needed
  • Clearly explain the application process to potential customers
  • Accurately complete additional paperwork as needed
  • Maintain appropriate levels of communication with management regarding actions taken within the Quality Assurance database
  • Transfer calls to appropriate department as needed
  • Successfully meet the minimum expectation for departmental key performance indicators (K.P.I's)

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

To succeed in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • Excellent oral and written communication: You should be able to clearly and effectively communicate with customers, management, and colleagues.
  • Superior customer service skills: You should be friendly, efficient, and have a good listening skill to provide exceptional customer service.
  • Proficient use of the computer, keyboard functions, and Microsoft Office: You should be comfortable using technology and have basic computer skills.
  • Minimum typing requirement of 35 wpm: You should be able to type accurately and efficiently.
  • Ability to multi-task: You should be able to handle multiple tasks and prioritize your work effectively.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and spelling (a plus): While not required, knowledge of medical terminology and spelling can be beneficial in this role.
  • Ability to work under pressure: You should be able to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills: You should be able to prioritize your work, manage your time effectively, and meet deadlines.
  • Must be detail-oriented: You should be able to accurately and thoroughly document information and complete tasks.
  • Have a desire to learn and grow within the Company: You should be eager to learn and take on new challenges and responsibilities.

Schedule

This part-time role requires a flexible schedule, with the following hours:

  • Tuesday - Friday: 5PM - 9PM
  • Saturdays: 8AM - Noon
