About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Special Education Substitute Teacher to join our team in Wheat Ridge, CO. Our company is committed to providing the highest pay rates among special education substitute providers, with up to $273 for day-to-day assignments and more for long-term assignments.

Key Responsibilities

• Follow and teach lesson plans provided by the regular teacher
• Instruct based on subject and grade-specific curriculum
• Monitor and assess student achievements and outcomes
• Exercise classroom and behavior management skills
• Share your specialized knowledge to coach staff and support special education students

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following qualifications and skills:

• Active Teaching license with a special education generalist (5-21) and/or special education specialist (5-21) endorsement(s)
• Substitute Authorization (must have or be in the process of obtaining if license is expired)
• Three References with one by a previous direct supervisor
• Complete a Background Check for Scoot Education (you'll be reimbursed for the cost on your first paycheck!)
• Complete a Background Check for the Colorado Department of Education (to receive your Substitute Authorization; you will not be reimbursed for the cost)
