Job Summary
As a 23/24 SY - Head Coach - Baseball, you will be responsible for leading our baseball team with passion, energy, and expertise. You will work closely with our student-athletes, teaching them the fundamentals of the game, promoting teamwork and sportsmanship, and fostering a culture of excellence and achievement. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive baseball program that aligns with the district's athletic and educational goals
- Lead and manage a team of student-athletes, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to help them achieve their full potential
- Plan and conduct practices, training sessions, and games, ensuring a safe and productive learning environment
- Communicate effectively with players, parents, coaches, and administrators, providing regular updates and feedback
- Foster a culture of teamwork, sportsmanship, and respect among players, coaches, and opponents
- Collaborate with other coaches and athletic staff to promote a cohesive and supportive team environment
- Ensure compliance with all Arizona Interscholastic Association (AIA) and Peoria Unified School District rules, regulations, and policies
- Participate in district and AIA meetings, as required
- Utilize online platforms, such as MaxPreps and HUDL, to manage team operations and communicate with stakeholders
Requirements and Qualifications:
To be considered for this exciting opportunity, you must possess the following qualifications:
- Certificate verifying completion of the NFHS online "Fundamentals of Coaching" course, or approved equivalent (AIA Rule 17.1)
- Certificate verifying completion of the NFHS online "Concussion in Sports - What You Need to Know" course (AIA Rule 17.1)
- Arizona Teaching Certificate OR an Arizona Coaching Certificate OR a certificate verifying completion of a sport-specific course (AIA Rule 17.1.2)
- Current Certification in CPR and First Aid
- Knowledge of essential skills, techniques, rules, and safety concerns for baseball
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with players, parents, coaches, and administrators
- Ability to adhere to rules and regulations set out by the AIA and Peoria Unified School District
Preferred Qualifications:
While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Physical Education, or a related field
- Previous coaching experience, preferably at the high school level
- Experience with team management software, such as MaxPreps and HUDL
- Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
