Job Summary

We're seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Teacher, Foreign Language - Spanish to inspire and educate students in grades K-12. As a Foreign Language teacher, you'll play a vital role in developing students' language skills, cultural awareness, and global perspectives. Your expertise will help students build a strong foundation in Spanish, preparing them for future academic success and opportunities in an increasingly interconnected world.

Key Responsibilities

• Curriculum Development and Implementation: Design and deliver engaging lesson plans that align with state and national standards, promoting language proficiency and cultural understanding.
• Instructional Excellence: Utilize effective instructional techniques, technology, and resources to facilitate student learning, mastery of content, and skill development.
• Student Assessment and Progress Monitoring: Develop and implement assessments to measure student progress, identify areas for improvement, and adjust instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
• Classroom Management and Environment: Establish a positive, inclusive, and productive learning environment that encourages student participation, respect, and responsibility.

Essential Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor's Degree: A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.
• Colorado Teaching License: Holds a Colorado teaching license or is currently eligible for one with the appropriate endorsement for this position (Foreign Language K-12).
• Endorsement Category: Endorsement in Foreign Language K-12.
• Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
• Cultural Competence: Demonstrated understanding of diverse cultures, experiences, and perspectives, with a commitment to promoting inclusivity and equity.
• Technological Proficiency: Familiarity with educational technology and digital tools to enhance instruction and student learning.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's Degree: A Master's Degree in Education, Foreign Language, or a related field.
• Linguistically Diverse Educator (LDE) Certificate: Completion of the APS-sponsored LDE Certificate Program or a related certification.
• Experience with Diverse Student Populations: Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds, including English language learners and students with varying abilities.
