Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Principal DevOps Engineer to join our team at blithequark. As a Technical Subject Matter Expert/Individual Contributor, you will be responsible for driving the organizational transformation in creating DevOps tooling, practices, and culture. You will contribute to enterprise-wide requirements and ensure adoption of the same, including visibility, scalability, availability, security, and cost performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead DevOps strategy covering design, development of tools, practices, and culture.
• Establish and enforce DevOps best practices, including version control, code review, automated testing, and deployment techniques.
• Design and manage infrastructure as code, using tools like Terraform, Ansible, or similar, to provision and manage resources across cloud environments.
• Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, CircleCI, or similar, ensuring fast and reliable application deployment.
• Collaborate with security and compliance teams to ensure teams are adhering to industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor and analyze DevOps pipelines and practices, identifying areas for improvement, optimization, and automation to enhance launch/failback consistency and accuracy.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging data technologies, trends, and best practices, and make recommendations for their adoption within the organization's DevOps environment.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior colleagues, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous learning.

Required Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should have:

• Experience working in public cloud environments, GCP (preferred)/Azure/AWS, and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Expertise in infrastructure as code concepts and tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible) for automating resource provisioning and configuration.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipeline tools (e.g., Jenkins, CircleCI) and version control systems (e.g., Git).
• Strong scripting skills in languages like Python, Bash, or similar.
• Solid problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex DevOps platform issues and provide effective solutions.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications
