Take the next step in your career as a Transcription Consultant with Teaching Strategies! We are excited to offer a remote opportunity with an immediate start. As a Transcription Consultant, you will play a critical role in the development of our new Direct Student Assessment tools, supporting the transcription of recordings of students engaging with our new Literacy Screener. This position is available for between 20 - 40 hours a week through mid-November, with the possibility of another window of transcription in the spring.

Position Overview

As a Transcription Consultant, you will be responsible for supporting the transcription of recordings of students engaging with our new Literacy Screener, which will ultimately help us fine-tune our Automatic Speech recognition technology. This is a fantastic opportunity to grow your career in early childhood education technology, working with a team of passionate and dedicated professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Segment and transcribe audio recordings of students at both the word and phoneme level for specific tasks.
• Correct transcriptions when necessary to accurately reflect recording.
• Work independently as well as collaboratively in a cross-functional team to produce high-quality results.
• Utilize your expertise in phonetics and phonology to ensure accurate transcriptions.
• Contribute to the development of our new Direct Student Assessment tools.

Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:

• 2+ years of relevant work experience, data entry experience a plus.
• Proficiency in distinguishing one letter sound from another, especially vowel sounds.
• High attention to detail and ability to produce accurate results.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in early childhood education or educational measurement.
• Familiarity with phonetics and phonology.
• Experience with transcription software and tools.
