Ad Ops Specialist (Contract)

As an Ad Ops Specialist, you will take ownership of digital campaign execution, optimization, and reporting across multiple platforms. This role requires a strong mix of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and client-facing communication. You will oversee ad trafficking, manage programmatic inventory, and ensure campaigns are delivered on time and aligned with client KPIs. Working closely with sales, marketing, and external partners, you will serve as the go-to resource for ad operations best practices. The position offers the opportunity to directly influence performance outcomes, improve workflows, and contribute to new strategies and tools that enhance campaign effectiveness in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Accountabilities

  • Oversee and execute multiple concurrent ad campaigns across display and paid social, ensuring timely delivery aligned with contracts, media plans, and KPIs.
  • Manage programmatic inventory, trafficking, and revenue, while optimizing placements across owned channels, newsletters, and native content.
  • Provide technical expertise and support to sales and marketing teams, offering solutions for digital capabilities and ad operations.
  • Collaborate with clients and agencies to implement third-party creative and troubleshoot issues related to ad formats and viewability.
  • Track, analyze, and optimize campaign performance, delivering client reports and strategic insights to shape future planning.
  • Research, recommend, and help implement tools or strategies to enhance ad serving, reporting, creative management, and campaign effectiveness.
  • Coordinate with external vendors and partners to handle administrative and technical tasks related to campaign launches.
  • Contribute to ad hoc projects in digital media, advertising technologies, and audience growth strategies.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in advertising operations, paid social, or audience development, preferably within an agency or publisher environment.
  • Proficiency with Google Ad Manager, third-party tracking tags/pixels, reporting platforms, and campaign performance analysis.
  • Strong client-facing experience with the ability to manage expectations and provide actionable insights.
  • Experience with paid social platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, TikTok, and Pinterest is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Funnel, Asana, Google Workspace, Dropbox, and Slack.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, highly matrixed environment with strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Leadership and team management experience considered a plus.
