About the Role: Substitute Teacher

We're seeking a passionate and experienced Substitute Teacher to join our team in Maxwell, TX. As a Substitute Teacher with Scoot Education, you'll have the flexibility to choose your assignments and work on your own schedule. You'll be working closely with schools, teachers, and students to provide high-quality educational experiences, even in the absence of the regular teacher.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide instructional support to students in the absence of the regular teacher
• Follow lesson plans and instructions left by the regular teacher to ensure continuity of learning
• Manage classroom behavior and create a positive learning environment
• Communicate with school staff, teachers, and administrators to ensure a smooth experience
• Participate in 1:1 check-ins with your designated Scoot consultant to discuss school feedback and develop your skills
• Engage in ongoing training and professional development to enhance your teaching practices

Essential Qualifications:

• Associate or Bachelor's degree, or 60+ college credits
• Three professional references, including one from a previous direct supervisor
• Ability to pass a background check (we'll cover the cost of this)
• A passion for education and putting students first
• An empathetic nature, a growth mindset, and a drive to be the best you can be

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a Substitute Teacher or in a related educational role
• Knowledge of curriculum design and instructional strategies
• Experience working with diverse student populations, including those with special needs
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
