About the Role

We're seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Private High School Math Tutor to join our team on a part-time basis. As a tutor, you'll work one-on-one with high school students, developing personalized lesson plans, assessing their progress, and communicating with parents and teachers as needed. Your expertise will be instrumental in helping students prepare for their STAAR exam in Math and excel in various math topics, from basic arithmetic to calculus.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement customized lesson plans to cater to individual students' needs and goals
• Assess student progress, identifying areas of strength and improvement
• Communicate effectively with parents, teachers, and students to ensure a collaborative approach
• Tutor students in a range of high school math subjects, including algebra, geometry, pre-calculus, and calculus
• Assist students in developing problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and test-taking strategies
• Prepare students for standardized exams, such as the SAT, ACT, and AP exams
• Utilize technology, including email, texting, Slack, and Google Sheets/Excel, to facilitate communication and organization

Essential Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, you'll need:

• A strong background in high school level math, with the ability to tutor a wide range of topics and skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to adapt to diverse backgrounds and learning styles
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Eligibility to work in the United States, with the necessary documentation to prove it
• A reliable computer and technological proficiency, including email, texting, Slack, and Google Sheets/Excel
• A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in mentoring, tutoring, or teaching in a classroom or school environment
• A demonstrated history of working with students who are learning to speak English

Preferred qualifications include:

• A college degree (Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral) in a relevant field
• Certified teacher with SBEC or other state licensure certification
• Previous experience working with migrant students or students from diverse backgrounds

Compensation and Benefits
